Sexual impotence is not inevitable for the Cubans for whom the Viagra has no effect, since the communist government decided to offer free implants, according to local media.

According to an urologist Juan Carlos Yip from the province of Camagüey, an undetermined number "of men over 40 years" has already undergone the operation to "implant a silicone device" that allows solving erectile problems.

Previously, this procedure was performed only in "developed countries" and at "a very high price," Carlos says in the  newspaper Juventud Rebelde.

"It is prescribed to patients when traditional treatments (such as Viagra) do not solve their sexual problems," said the doctor.

The first concerned include men with diabetes, circulatory problems, degenerative disease or high cholesterol level.

According to Juventud Rebelde, the new treatment is especially designed to allow patients to "fully enjoy the sexual act" and "improve the morale and quality of life of the man and his partner."
