The Dow Live Earth Run for Water, designed by the organizers of the mega-concert Live Earth, which took place around the world in July 2007, aims to educate the public about the issues related to the shortage of drinking water. Concerts and activities on the water will be held in addition to races or walks.

18 April, 2010 several countries and cities around the world organize 6 km races, the average distance "as women and children must travel each day to fetch water", organizers said on their website.

Meanwhile, concerts and activities on the water will be organized "to trigger a massive global movement to try to solve the problem of water scarcity".

In total, 192 countries are expected to attend the event, including Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States. Volunteers can organize a race, walk or even a concert in their area by registering on the website dedicated to the race - http://liveearth.org/en.

You can also leave contact information on the site to be contacted when an event is held near your home.

Many individuals support the initiative. Among them are the actress Jessica Biel or Alexandra Cousteau, environmental activist and granddaughter of the French explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
