Can we make a gifted baby?
According to recent studies conducted by researchers at the University of California Riverside, the answer is no! For their study, 88 children aged 12 to 25 months were selected.
Half of the infants watched the DVD and the other not, and that for 6 weeks.
At the end of the experiment, researchers and parents have found that babies of both groups knew the same number of words.
The educational DVD does not make kids smarter and do not accelerate their learning of language, especially if they are aged under 3 years of age, when children develop cognitive skills that enable them to really enjoy the learning offered by DVD.
For scientists, what really makes a difference is the presence of parents and their interactions with their children that can accelerate the learning of language, and not the act of watching the DVD.
